• This project will look at all aspects of feeding in children with CHI.
• What is the long-term neurological follow up of children with CHI?
• This will be extremely important as we want to know what the consequences are of hypoglycaemia in terms of detailed neurological assessment.
• What are the long-term consequences of medical therapy with diazoxide and octreotide?
• Why do some children respond to diazoxide and how do they release insulin while on diazoxide therapy?
• Laboratory based research
• Understanding molecular mechanisms regulating insulin secretion.
• Insulin signalling.
• How do defects in genes lead to unregulated insulin secretion?
• What are the molecular mechanisms controlling growth in patients with hyperinsulinism.

• A full time clinical nurse specialist
• Medical research fellow (Dr)
• Technicians/laboratory based people
